Because there’s no surprises or any real “new” concepts outside of scattered items, every level ostensibly feels the same. There’s more of an emphasis on puzzle elements than anything else, but the fact remains that Putty Squad is overly simplistic. All you have to do is visit each level (sectioned off like arenas) and collect a certain amount of blobs, then head for the door - that’s about it. That is, if you can completely ignore the other major problem - the gameplay is also dated (and the frogurt is still cursed). The first thing you’ll definitely notice about Putty is that it still looks dated, even though it’s technically billed as a “remake.” The animations are nice and the framerate is consistent however, so if you can deal with the sub-par visuals and lack of effort you won’t have very many problems.

Putty Squad (3DS, PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Vita)
PUTTY SQUAD WII U SOFTWARE
The only problem is, System 3 Software has opted to charge $29.99 for a decidedly dated game - which is a bit of a problem.
PUTTY SQUAD WII U PS4
Wii U is getting close thou.Of all of the games to get a PS4 remake, you’d probably never put Putty Squad, an SNES game from 1994, at the top of the list. But here we are in 2014 with a full-on re-imagining, with more or less the same platforming mechanics that still work nearly 20 years later. , but no console ever had a soul like CD32 and Dreamcast had i think.
PUTTY SQUAD WII U FULL
Its a full "Amiga 1200" with sweet Eric Schwartz Workbench, so i will refresh my memories and also play some of the newer sweet CD32 releases. Just pulled out my CD32 with Promodule from storage room to reconnect it.

I don't have the skills required to make your files work either, so we can only hope someone can do it some day. Putty Squad was planned for CD32, so it must be possible on 2.MB chip only.

It should technically in theory be possible to run it from CD on 2.MB RAM with your source, but too bad its not easy to do this. I was thinking too much ECS, but this game is of course AGA. I have been too long away from Amiga OS, and obviously had some "memory loss".
PUTTY SQUAD WII U CODE
I also have all the source code and files for the game, but it still isn't trivial to get it to fit.Ĭool. Wrong, Putty Squad uses ALL of 2 meg of chipram, I know as I'm the guy that released it for System 3 Its not impossible, but its no two second job either. It is possible, but for the CD32 I would have to recode parts of the game to reduce memory consumption, remove all hard coded addresses. if it were that simple, it would have been released already :/ Putty Squad is hard coded to run from a specific memory location, pretty much where AmigaDOS would wish to reside in.Īs for using an assign. Sure, there might be the odd spare 15K chunk here or there, but not in any meaningful way. Its been disabled but there was an ingame memory watcher which displayed the location and size of everything in memory for Putty Squad, and I can assure you, Putty Squad uses virtually ALL of memory. Then you would be wrong, categorically and emphatically. Maybe we need a bounty challenge I put money on StingRay or Psygore On a real CD32 there is usually more memory available than on WinUAE due to people using a hard disk for testing. It would run fine without it, with just assigning the disks assuming they are not protected and are in amiga dos which I guess they might not be? It has worked for other AGA games. Maybe other coders or whdload authors can chime in to confirm this, running with whdload is the problem I think. I don't think Putty Squad would use 100% 2MB memory, that was never expect from a regular A1200 either. I think Putty Squad should run on a CD32 you can free over 1.9mb on a CD32 using simple tools.
